We are the controller of your personal data. We handle it in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This Privacy Policy covers the Initial G website, accounts, subscriptions, downloads, leaderboards, Discord sign-in, and our Discord bots. It explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following types of personal data when you use our services:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, and payment details.
- Data Related to the Service: This includes lap times and other performance metrics for the purpose of maintaining leaderboards.
- Steam Verification: Information submitted through a form for Steam account verification.
- Cookies: We use cookies to improve your experience, analyze website traffic, and support the functionality of our services.
- Third-Party Services: Data collected via third-party service providers, such as our payment processor (Stripe).
- Discord sign-in: If you log in with Discord, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar.
- Discord bots: Racing Bot and the Leaderboards bot process the data described in section 16.
3. How We Collect Data
We collect data through:
- User Registration: When you create an account or register for our services.
- Forms: Including forms for Steam verification.
- Cookies: When you interact with our website.
- Third-Party Services: When processing payments through Stripe and analyzing website traffic.
- Discord: When you sign in with Discord, or when you use the Initial G Discord and our bots.
4. Purpose of Data Collection
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and manage our services, including maintaining leaderboards and managing subscriptions.
- To analyze website traffic and improve user experience.
- To communicate special offers and promotions as a product feature for our Titanium Tier subscribers. These offers come directly from us and do not involve sharing your data with third parties.
- To comply with legal requirements and obligations.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. However, we may share data with:
- Payment Processors: We use Stripe to process payments securely.
- Analytics Providers: To help us analyze website traffic and improve our services.
- Discord: To provide Discord sign-in and to operate Racing Bot and the Leaderboards bot. Details are in section 16.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account or subscription is active, and afterwards for as long as we need it to meet a legal duty. You can ask us to delete your data at hello@initialg.gg. How long we keep Discord bot data is set out in section 16.
7. Legal Basis for Data Processing
We process your data based on the following legal grounds under the GDPR:
- Consent: Where you have provided explicit consent (e.g., accepting cookies).
- Contract: To provide the services you have requested or subscribed to.
- Legitimate Interests: For maintaining and analyzing the performance of our services.
- Contract and legitimate interests for Discord bots: See section 16.
8. User Rights
As a user, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of Access: Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: Request corrections to your data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to Erasure: Request the deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Right to Object: Opt out of data processing activities, such as receiving special offers.
- Right to lodge a complaint: You can complain to the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky), dataprotection.gov.sk.

9. Security Measures
We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following measures:
- Encryption: Data is encrypted during transmission and storage.
- SSL/TLS Protocols: Secure connections for data transmission.
- Server-Side Security: Antivirus solutions and a secure database separate from our main server.
- SSO with Discord: We use Single Sign-On (SSO) with Discord, ensuring enhanced security for user accounts.
10. Data Processing Outside the EU/EEA
Stripe (payments) and Discord (sign-in and the community bots) process some personal data in the United States. Those transfers rely on the provider’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified under it. Our own databases for the website and the bots are hosted at Hetzner in the EU.
11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies to enhance user experience and analyze traffic on our website. You will be informed about the use of cookies upon visiting our website and have the option to customize your cookie preferences. For more information or to change your cookie settings, please email hello@initialg.gg.
12. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that may compromise your data, we will promptly notify you via email and through our Discord channels, in accordance with legal requirements.
13. Marketing and Communication Preferences
Receiving special offers is a benefit included in our Titanium Tier subscription. Users can opt-out of receiving these communications at any time by contacting hello@initialg.gg.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please review this page periodically for any updates.

16. Discord bots
Racing Bot (Discord application 1507791246884605962) and the Leaderboards bot (Discord application 1462097102321488036) are part of Initial G. They run in our Discord server. This section is the application privacy notice for both bots. The rest of this policy covers the website, accounts, subscriptions, downloads, payments, and leaderboards.
- Racing Bot uses the Server Members intent to see who is in the server, to assign subscription tier roles, and to record who is boosting the server. It uses the Message Content intent only to check that a chat message in a designated XP channel is at least 3 characters long. The text of that message is not saved.
- Leaderboards bot publishes public challenge standings and handles paging buttons on those posts. Its Message Content intent is enabled. The bot does not read or store the text of Discord messages.
Data the bots process
- Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar when a player card needs it.
- Server roles and whether you are boosting the server.
- For chat XP: channel ID, channel name, and message ID. Not the message text.
- Reactions on announcement posts: Discord user ID, message ID, emoji, and the age of the announcement.
- Poll votes: Discord user ID, the option you chose, vote weight, and your linked Steam ID.
- Your linked Steam ID and subscription tier, already stored for your Initial G account, so the bot can assign roles and record XP.
Why, and the legal basis
- Contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): XP, polls, tier roles, and /flex when you have linked your Steam account and use those features.
- Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping community roles accurate, showing public leaderboards, and running the Discord as part of Initial G. You can object via hello@initialg.gg.
Who receives it
- Discord, Inc., which hosts the server and delivers gateway events.
- Our PostgreSQL database on the Initial G server at Hetzner (EU).
How long we keep it
- XP events and poll votes stay while your Discord account is in the Initial G server or your Steam link exists.
- A booster record is deleted when you stop boosting the server.
- You can ask us to delete this data at hello@initialg.gg. We may keep a record where the law requires it.
The bots are not directed at children under 16. Discord’s own rules also apply to the server.
